Defiant Requiem: Verdi at Terezín is the signature concert of The Defiant Requiem Foundation and tells the story of the courageous Jewish prisoners in the Theresienstadt Concentration Camp (Terezín) during World War II who performed Verdi’s Requiem while experiencing the depths of human degradation. This performance features the full Verdi Requiem with the chorus and soloists accompanied by a single piano, as it was in Terezín. The prisoners’ story is told between the movements with video and narration.
