How long is a performance of Hours of Freedom?
A performance of Hours of Freedom is approximately 90 minutes in length. The option to include a brief pause and an additional twenty minutes is also available.

What performers are needed for a performance of Hours of Freedom?
Hours of Freedom uses flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, piano, harp, at least two violins, viola, cello, and double bass. The performance also includes four singers (soprano, mezzo, tenor, bass), an actor, and Murry Sidlin as narrator and conductor.

Do you have artists with whom you regularly work?
The Defiant Requiem Foundation maintains relationships with a number of artists who are familiar with Hours of Freedom and who know this repertoire, some of which is rarely performed.

How are performances arranged?
Performances of Hours of Freedom are arranged by agreement with The Defiant Requiem Foundation a 501(c)(3) organization based in Washington, DC, for a performance fee. The fee includes all associated costs for personnel, staffing, and support provided by the Foundation, including Maestro Sidlin. In most cases, the fee also includes the participation of our preferred pianist for this program, Phillip Silver.

What kind of support is provided by the Foundation?
The Foundation provides the script, concert roll-in video, music, and cue sheets for performances of Hours of Freedom, along with original artwork, photos, approved marketing/PR copy, program notes and translations, and access to our publicity agent. The Foundation also provides artistic, technical, and logistical support via General Manager, Sean Kehoe, who acts as Technical Director and Production Stage Manager for performances.

The budget for performances of Hours of Freedom varies widely depending on location and what resources are already available to the presenter. We will be happy to work with you and your staff to develop a budget for your unique situation.
