Private guided tour by bus and on foot of Prague focusing on the life of composer Gideon Klein with David Fligg, Project Consultant, Performing the Jewish Archive, University of Leeds, UK.  The tour will depart promptly at 3pm from the entrance Cafe Lucerna. Please meet in the arcade itself. Enter either via Vodičkova or Štěpánská (both off Wenceslas Square), and congregate underneath the statue of the upside-down horse.This is a 20 minute walk from the Clement

A performance of the one-woman play, The Tin Ring, which recounts the life of Terezín Survivor Zdenka Fantlova with a discussion session following with the actor, director and producer.  Performance will take place in the Attic Theater at the Magdeburg Barracks.

Concert in Prague of chamber musicwritten by Terezín composers performed by pianist Phillip Silver, cellist Noreen Silver and members of Prague Modern. The recital will be held in the Clementinum – Mirror Chapel  190  110 00 Praha 1-Staré Město.

Sunday, May 17, 2015
A performance of the new concert-drama created by Murry Sidlin entitled Hours of Freedom: The Story of the Terezín Composer.  Showcasing music by fifteen composers imprisoned in Terezín during the WWII, Hours of Freedom combines video, music, and narrative to highlight works by Viktor Ullmann, Gideon Klein, Zigmund Schul, Pavel Haas and Rudolf Karel, among others. Building on the themes of Defiant Requiem, Hours of Freedom explores the sustenance that music provided in the camp.  This music was often the last composed by these gifted artists – many of whom were in their 20s and 30s when they perished.  The compositions portray the agony and suffering of camp life along with the inspiration and revelation that comes through music.  The concert will take place in the Municipal Riding School.
